I'm a student at Marshall Univeristy in Huntington WV ... I and many others would love if you puy on a show here ... we're looking at getting Boys Like Girls to come sometime soon to put on an outdoor show on the weekend of a football game ... looking at your tour schedule, the closest concert to our area is about 4 hours away ... the town i come from was also about 4 hours away from where you guys would hold any concerts ... the only concert i've ever been to was the Gin Blossoms ... mmmhmm ... so needless to say, i and many others would love to have a show put on by our favorite band

sucky that i've been out of high school for awhile now or i'd get you to play mine. i'm sure people would love y'all there... although i'm pretty sure you could still set something up with my alma mater. or if anything you can play at my cousin's school... it's not a high school per say it's a public academy, but they have high schoolers going there. if that makes any sense. but yeah it's in federal way which isn't that far from seattle.

I help the QD team manage the high school visits by soliciting input from the fans who have registered their schools via the band's MySpace page and web page. I also scan the band's tour schedule and work at night to solicit fans directly for dates when the band will be in their area. I even go so far as to look up school administrator's emails and inquire of them directly when fans don't respond.

In addition to just posting the desire to have QD visit your school, if you take the extra step to meet with your principal to get their approval and then send quietdrivehighschool@gmail.com or quietdrivehs@gmail.com a note saying you have your administrator's approval and include the school name, city, and principal's email address. One trick we've uncovered is that if you get your band/choir/orchestra teachers agree that this is a great thing, the principals are more likely to approve.

One resource you can share with the performing arts teachers or your principals is located at www.quietdrivefan.com/school - which has the complete background of the band, the "Quietdrive in School" program, and also contains references from other schools that QD has visited. The "Video" section of that website also has video of the type of performances that the guys do at the schools...look under the "QD in School" heading on the left.

We have A LOT of schools that have been nominated for visits, but by doing just a little bit of legwork beyond just asking for a visit, you can increase your odds of a visit (and a great time) significantly.

Maine South High School in Park Ridge, IL it's about 5 minutes from O'Hare Airport. You guys were supposed to play here last year but my principal never responded. So this time, we gotta get it to happen!!

I graduated in '05, but I went to an all-girls high school in Rocky River, OH (about 15 minutes outside of Cleveland). I'm still on very good terms with many members of the administration, so if I had details to give them, I think it could be a possibility.

I mean, approx. 800 teenage girls in a new "performing arts center" -- what more could you want? ;)
