Fans, friends, lovers,
Sneaker 2 Bombs is officially out of here. So many people thought
that it was the greatest name ever. I mean you have two random words
and a numeral. If that is not a recipe for world domination then I
don't know what is. But the fact of the matter is simply this. In the
past few months, we have taken some very large steps in becoming a
band that is successful on a nationwide scale. You know what that
means...scores of Crystal, women, ferarris, you know the deal.
So as we are crossing the last bridge between hometown garage band and
hometown garage band that gets to travel cross country for slightly
cheaper than before, we ultimately decided to find solidity in our
band's name.
So over the last few weeks we have been milling around trying to come
up with ideas. "Neil''s Diamonds" was already taken and so was "Mel
Gibson and the Pants." As you can plainly see on your screen...our
well was running dry quickly.
So because Prince can still sell out the Excel Center 4 days in a row
and he has changed his name/symbol 11 times, we are going to try one
last time as well. As of this day forward, the neon lights shall read
"The Never Ending..."
The Never Ending...what....you might ask. Well between the band there
are some sincere reasons and there are some ( in jest) reasons i
can't think of the word
We wanted a name that was about our music, NOT about us as people, the
way we live, or how it rolls off the tongue. We thought of a baker's
dozen catchy names and cool designs but the truth is that they were
just that...catchy names and cool designs. And I will be the first to
tell you that it is no easy task coming up with a band name. It's
like if your name was Phil and then one day at school you told
everyone to address you as "Scategories." The only man on the planet
who can get away with that is Sexual J (our friend and merch man) and
he does it with such grace and precision that he is on a different
playing field.
But in all seriousness, never ending is synonymous with how we feel
our music comes across to us and hopefully our fans/listeners. This
effortless soaring that transcends us to someone different. Our goal
was to describe our music in a band name and we think we did that
effectively. Everyone in the band has whole heartedly agreed that this
decision is final and will stay final once and for all.
We want to start something HUGE and we want to do it with everyone on
board. That means our friends, families, and most importantly our
fans
That is all from the update factory now. We hope to see each and
every one of you in the next few months whilst we are on the road.

The Story: The conception of Sneaker 2 Bombs had its early ups and downs. But its mere beginnings from practicing in their drummer's basement to playing at college campuses quickly transformed them into one of the most talked about bands in the Midwestern U.S. The Minneapolis music scene turned out to be quite promising with two successful years playing at the hottest spots in the city to earning a spot on the 2004 Van’s Warped Tour. Then they decide to take what they’ve built in an entirely different direction.
The Message: Enter Sneaker2bombs (formerly Quietdrive). The philosophy is simple: Create music that has a little something for everyone, that reaches inside of you and flexes your emotional muscle, add some wit and humor, and then with that music as a catalyst, build a movement of ordinary people, doing extraordinary things. This is honest music, it’s not dressed up or flashy, it’s real life, the good, the bad and everything in-between and Sneaker2bombs wants you to be a part of it.
The Music: Sneaker 2 Bombs entered the studio in December of 2003 with the intentions of creating a simple demo. The result, Leaving Dramatics, (produced and mixed by local legends Matt Kirkwold and James Harley) was one of the smartest and fullest albums that Minneapolis has heard in years.
When you listen to Sneaker 2 Bombs' debut album it is strikingly honest. There is simply eight intelligent, well written, candid tracks that they want to share with you. Guitarist/singer Matt Kirby expressed “We’re going to let it all hang out and we want our fans to do the same. Songs like “Frozen Foods,” recognizes many avenues of life including the ever-so-common story of a love-struck boy involved in the perils of teenage lust and the grocery store. Then when you’re ready to dig a little deeper, songs like “Both Ways,” and “Rush Together” break into the more solemn and painstaking issues of life and love. “This music will take you through the entire spectrum of human emotions and experiences,” comments Singer Kevin Truckenmiller. That’s exactly the type of versatility that Sneaker2bombs aims to create.
The Mission: When the band Quietdrive decided to become Sneaker2bombs it was met with some confusion and unrest from many loyal fans.
“I think a lot of people were concerned that the things they liked about Quietdrive were going to go away, when in fact we’re just building on those things and creating something even better. We really have a lot of faith in each and every one of these people, they have been so supportive of us and our music thus far and as we are growing up musically, and doing things differently, we trust that they will stick by our side,”commented bassist Droo Hastings.
"Leaving Dramatics" documents the coming of age of its members. "[It] represents where we came from and where we are now going,” says guitarist, Justin Bonhiver. “We’ve been playing music together since Jr. Highschool and Sneaker 2 Bombs is just the next obvious step in the evolution of things.” The transition is well summed up by the song “Both Ways” when it says “I’m choosing a road that is different, but similar to the same one I took before.”
